Remember Why You Started

It’s a simple phrase, but one that carries tremendous weight.
Whether you are competing in sports, working toward a degree, launching a company, or navigating another major life change, obstacles will always appear. The road to growth and success is rarely straight. It twists, turns, and sometimes forces you to stop and re-chart your path.
The difference between stopping short and reaching your summit often comes down to one thing: consistency.
Consistency in showing up.
Consistency in putting in the work.
Consistency in staying aligned with the spark that lit your fire in the first place.
There will be times when you need to pivot, when circumstances demand a new route. But your why, the reason you started, becomes the compass that keeps you moving forward.
This week, I had the opportunity to reconnect with a past leader, and I am overjoyed to see how past obstacles have shaped a rewarding and exciting journey. Last night, while attending the USMNT event in Columbus and listening to soccer greats, one message stood out. They were not afraid of their missteps and failures. Instead, they used them as fuel for their next level of growth.
So when the journey feels long or the terrain gets rough, pause and remind yourself:
** Why did I start?
** What is the end goal I’m chasing?
Keep that vision close. It will fuel you through the valleys and carry you toward the summit.
