You can have the best idea in the world or the most impactful message, but if you don’t deliver it with conviction, clarity, and confidence, you diminish not only the power of the message, you diminish yourself.
Recently I saw a post mourning the “death of cursive writing” because it’s no longer taught in schools. But maybe we should be talking about something even more concerning:
The slow downfall of verbal communication skills.
We’re communicating more than ever… yet speaking less effectively than ever.We rely on text messages, emojis, Slack, and email. We shorten, abbreviate, soften. And for many, the skill of articulating a strong, direct, intentional message is fading.
Meanwhile, the professional world is only getting more competitive, fewer roles, higher expectations, more demand for leaders who can influence, inspire, and sell their thinking.
So here’s the question:
What are you doing to stay ahead?
Are you practicing how you speak? Are you developing presence? Are you refining your delivery, not just your ideas? Are you building the kind of communication muscle that separates strong performers from standout leaders?
Because in a world where everyone is typing, those who can speak with impact will win.
