Talk Less, Do More: The Mark of True Leaders & Coaches

The best leaders and coaches talk less and do more.

When I started Vetta Sales Consulting, I didn't realize how much I missed coaching or how deeply I would love helping people—leaders, sales professionals, founders, and young adults—achieve their goals. Watching them grow and being part of their journey invigorates me.

I've always been goal-oriented, a mindset instilled in me from a young age. But goals mean nothing without action.

Athletics and fitness have shaped me since childhood. Kudos to Chief (my dad) for pushing me on the basketball court and teaching me that size doesn't matter—effort and attitude do. That lesson stuck with me. At a towering 5'4, I played strong-side hitter in volleyball and was often asked to play post in basketball. My size was never a limitation.

That's why I believe talk is cheap. Action is EVERYTHING.

It's easy to set goals, strategize, plan, and discuss what should happen. But real progress? Real impact? That only comes from action and consistency.

If you want change, YOU have to make it happen. Setbacks will happen. But when you build inner strength, you embrace them, learn from them, and keep moving forward.

This isn't just about individual performance but leadership and coaching.

🔹 As a leader, your team isn't just listening—they’re watching. If you want commitment, consistency, and effort, model it daily. Don't just talk about it if you want results in sales. Put in the work. In today's competitive landscape, new clients, deals, and repeat business won't fall into your lap—you must earn them.

🔹 As a coach, you don't just instruct—you demonstrate. You push, challenge, and hold them accountable, even when it's tough. When I coached volleyball, I ran sprints with my athletes at the end of every practice—and they had to beat me. It wasn't an ego trip; it was to condition them for weekend-long tournaments and help them experience the joy of accomplishment.

Words have power, but only if they lead to execution. The best leaders and coaches don't just inspire with their words—they motivate with their actions.

This week, let's stop talking about it—let's make it happen.
